There had to be a better way

My wife and I have been visiting San Carlos since 2005. We counted many of the local people of Guaymas, Empalme and San Carlos as friends and worked very hard to assimilate the language & culture.

However, we grew frustrated trying to learn on our own.

Humble beginnings

We choose the name Espanglish as a play on words. Not only would we teach Spanish to english-speaking tourists, visitors and expatriates, but would also teach English to spanish-speaking residents, visitors and tourists.

After much hard work and preparation, we opened our doors to students as the Espanglish - Institute of Language and Culture.

Casual and Comfortable Classroom Setting

The institute is located at 187-A on Ave H Sur (the main paved road heading into the Ranchitos), across from the Bomberos.  It is a two story, cream colored building.
